Mango, Tommy Atkins

Juicy, sweet, and fiberous, the flesh of a ripe Tommy Atkins mango is a staple ingredient in cuisines around the world. In fact, they are the most consumed fruit, per capita, on the planet! Their flavor is sweet, tropical, and lightly tart, lending itself well to many different culinary applications, both sweet and savory. Our Tommy Atkins are grown in Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, but primarily Mexico. Its skin is a deep orange-red color with green accents. When ripe, it will give slightly to gentle pressure. They are extremely high in vitamin C! This cultivar of mango comeswas developed by Thomas Atkins, who derived this variety from the Haden mango.
